Mental Health Awareness week.
The 15th – 22nd of May marks Mental Health awareness week in Ireland and coming off the back of a very successful campaign for Darkness into Light, Irish Sailing along with Sailing into wellness want to keep the ball rolling in working together towards positive change.
Sailing into Wellness, one of Irish Sailing’s Charity partners, is a non for profit social enterprise born out of our passion to utilize the unique setting of the sea to help our communities. Their vision is for Sailing into Wellness to be a healthy natural solution for our communities to look after their physical and mental well-being and it is our mission to use the sea to inspire change in our communities.
Sailing into wellness with be running a few programs throughout the week, with a few familiar faces of Board member Tessa Kingston and mentorship program graduates Leonie Conway.
1. A month long program in Dunmore East starting on the 16th – Run by Tessa Kingston and Katy Mullins
2. Youth group doing an overnight voyage on the sailing ship ‘Ilen’ on the 17th & 18th – Run by Leonie Conway & Aodh.
3. Kinsale Mens Shed sailing on the ship ‘Ilen’ on the 19th
4. Cork community group sailing 1720’s in Kinsale 18th
