Erin McIlwaine is an Irish international sailor and sails a 49erFX boat with her crew Ellen Barbour. She is a rising presence on the elite racing circuit and has represented Ireland at major international regattas and championships.

A product of Ireland’s high-performance sailing pathway, Erin began sailing with crew Ellen Barbour in March 2024. The pair moved into the Senior Irish Sailing team in late 2025 following a Bronze medal in the U23 World Championships in Denmark. This is her first Senior season and the highlight so far would be a seventh place at the Sailing Grand Slam in Hyeres.

Off the water, Erin is studying Physiotherapy at Trinity College Dublin.
