The ICRA National Championships has been pushed back a week and will now take place 8-10th September at Howth Yacht Club.
The ICRA dates and venue are selected two years ahead and we were unable to foresee that the tides for the original dates are some of the lowest of the year rendering many of the boats stuck in the mud in Howth if it were to proceed. Moving the venue to Dun Laoghaire also wasn’t an option as the Howth boats would be unable to leave in time for Friday and would not be able to get back into the harbour on Sunday evening.
We are aware that the new date clashes with the Ireland Vs Romania match in the Rugby World Cup and HYC will make plans to ensure nobody misses the match.
