Inclusive Instructor Mentorship Programme

Irish Sailing is offering an Inclusive Instructor Mentorship Programme alongside our newly launched Winter Watersports Inclusion Series (WWIS) running from Dun Laoghaire Marina this October and November. The WWIS will avail of Irish Sailing’s new Inclusion Fleet which is based in Dublin over the coming months and will offer Inclusive Sailing and Powerboating opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Inclusive Instructor Mentorship Programme is aimed at Instructors wishing to develop their inclusion awareness and facilitation skills with the opportunity to observe and support best practice and the chance to build practical experience in this field. Volunteer attendance at 6 of the Winter Inclusion Series 2 hr sessions and at an Irish Sailing’s free 3 hr Inclusion Training, will qualify instructors as Inclusive Instructors in their relevant discipline.

The Winter Inclusion Series will run Sundays and Mondays in October & November beginning 9th October through to 21st November and will be coordinated by an Irish Sailing Instructor Trainer with a team of experienced inclusion instructors. It is preferable that applicants hold both a Dinghy and Powerboat Instructorship, applicants with on or the other will also be reviewed.

Spaces are limited and early application is recommended.

Interested candidates can contact WWIS coordinator Johanne Murphy at wsinclusion@gmail.com
