Best Wishes to Everyone at the Wave Regatta

Good Luck to Everyone

Sending best wishes to all the competitors and Howth Yacht Club for next week’s Wave Regatta, with almost 100 boats entered so far, it is expected to tip over the 100 by close of entries.

It's not too late to enter. Entry closes next Wednesday 1st June. with options to participate in the three-day event or the single day Saturday (Incorporating one windward-leeward race and then the Lambay Race). Enter online now at https://www.waveregatta.com

The highlight will be the first outing of the Cape 31s in Ireland – with three Howth boats racing in class 0. (Owners: Dan O’Grady, David Maguire and the Wright brothers.)

The first ‘Wing foil’ racing event in Ireland is a fantastic addition to the Wave Regatta and there will be SUP racing throughout the weekend. Howth Yacht Club are hoping to set the 10 visiting wing foilers a ‘corrrected time‘ challenge against the other boats around Lambay on Saturday - bearing in mind that they will travel at more than 35 knots!

As always, the Wave experience will also excel ashore, with a massive party planned. The huge stage will host live acts each evening and a massive 12 m digital screen relaying footage and images from each day’s racing will be on display.

The club forecourt will be transformed into a festival village with a fully lit stretch tents,  Knights food village, 10-meter Heineken bar, a rum beach bar, stands from our supporting businesses and charities such as Sail Training Ireland, RopeDock, PureMagic, Howth RNLI.

The après sail event will be open to the general public. Everyone is welcome.

Sailing instructions and class splits will be published next week.
