Tom finished the third leg of the 53rd edition of the Solitaire du Figaro in 15th place. He finished in 7th place in the overall ranking and for the third time in a row in the top 10 of the most difficult race of the season. Congratulations Tom - time for a well-earned rest.

Tom finished leg 2 in 5th place with Kenny coming in at 24th place. The final leg is 700nm, Ryan to Sain-Nazaire, via La Corogne - known as the Double Bay of Biscay!! Commencing Sunday 4 September, with estimated final boat to finish 8 September.

The Figaro sailors had a tough night sailing on Monday with winds of 15knots with wind gusts in excess of 30knots. In the early hours of Wednesday 31st Tom Dolan in Smurfit Kappa Kingspan broke away from the fleet, along with Edenred and Teamwork, and Tom worked his way into first position. Meanwhile Kenny Rumball on Offshore Racing Academy sits in 22nd and Conor Fogerty of Immuniex365.co.uk has retired from Leg 2.

Tom Dolan had an incredible start to Leg one of La Solitaire du Figaro and was chasing the lead, Tom Laperche, or much of the leg. Tom came into Port la Foret in 14th place.

Three Irish Entries join the fleet of Figaro 3s competing in the 53rd solo offshore race la Solitaire du Figaro.

The Solitaire takes place in 4 stages which vary depending on the year (3 stages in 2022) off the coasts of France, Spain, Ireland and England over a total of around 1,500 to 2,000 miles with 10 to 14 days at sea. It is a grueling race and the skippers train hard and plan well to compete.
