New Irish Sailing Social Media Intern
Susanna is our 22-year-old social media intern, who has recently finished her undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. As the daughter of a Dutch diplomat, Susanna has an unusual background, having grown up in eight different countries across three continents. She speaks Dutch, German and French.
Now an active member of the Irish University Sailing Association (IUSA) and Dublin Bay Sailing Club (DBSC) cruiser racing, Susanna started sailing at just seven years old in sunny Australia. Once old enough to travel alone, Susanna began spending her summer months living with her grandparents and doing Irish Sailing courses in the National Yacht Club in Dublin. Sailing gave her confidence and skills, but also provided a welcoming community in Ireland. Since then, Susanna has become a qualified Irish Sailing instructor and worked all around the world, including Dublin, Abu Dhabi, and New York.
As a result of her work as Public Relations Officer for Trinity Women’s Rugby, Susanna was awarded the Trinity Sports Award for the Best Media Campaign in 2019. She runs her own food blog and review page on Instagram, as well as managing her fast-growing TikTok account. Susanna is currently enrolled in a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing course with the UCD Professional Academy and is excited to be on board with Irish Sailing as a social media intern. She hopes to develop her skills and creativity even further in a new, professional environment.
