Calling All Instructors ... let's get ready for a busy season
It has been a very challenging few months for a lot of people and it might seem difficult to look ahead with all the ongoing uncertainty, but there are signs to be hopeful of a busy summer afloat.
As it looks like everyone will be holidaying at home again this summer, Training Centres and Clubs are already registering strong interest in summer courses. Junior Organisers and Centre Principals are working hard to prepare for the season as best they can and you can help them out by looking ahead at your work plans for the summer.
The earlier you engage with your chosen Club or Training Centre the more likely you are to get your preferred instructing job, leaving it to the last minute may lead to jobs being unavailable as there are likely to be less instructors travelling abroad again this year.
To ensure you remain valid Irish Sailing had put arrangements in place to cover First Aid and Re-validation requirements for the coming season details of which can be found in the Training Notices here
If you’re thinking of upskilling, we have two Senior Instructor courses currently scheduled to take place at the end of May and Early June, subject to restriction levels at the time, and are available to book in the online shop now. Both are run at a set fee of €330.
May 26th – 30th, National Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire
June 5th – 9th, The Oysterhaven Centre, Kinsale
Once there is more clarity around the easing of restrictions other course such as Advanced Sailing Instructor, Powerboat Instructor and Windsurfing Instructor will also be scheduled and published to our Current Scheduled Courses list on the website.
