Sailing Scheme & Irish Sailing Passport Review

Sailing Scheme & Irish Sailing Passport Review

Time for review

As part of our normal cycle of ongoing reviews the Small Boat Sailing Scheme (Dinghies Keelboats and Catamarans) and the Irish Sailing policy regarding the recording of participation are both due for review in 2021 with any recommended changes to be implemented in 2022.

The aim of the reviews is to ensure that Irish Sailing training programmes and the way in which we record participation remain fit for purpose, meet current participation trends, are up to date with current best practice and are in line with the goals of the Irish Sailing Strategic Plan.

To this end the Training Policy Group have requested that two working groups be formed to gather stakeholder input, review the current scheme and policies and make recommendations on any changes required. The membership of each group should reflect the broad range of Irish Sailing Training Centres including Club, Commercial, Further Education and other specialist centres.

Each Working Group will consist of 5 or 6 members, covering the categories above, selected by the Training Policy Group.

  1. Sailing Scheme Review Group
  2. Irish sailing Passport Review Group

If you represent a Training Centre in any of the above categories and wish to take part in one of the above working groups please email identifying which Training Centre you represent and which working group you wish to participate in.
