Annalise Murphy visits young sailors at Sutton Dinghy Club
Centre Principal Hugh Gill welcomed Annalise Murphy to the club yesterday where she met a number of young sailors. She told them how she’d become interested in sailing, the highs and lows of campaigning, and relayed some scary moments when she competed in the Volvo Ocean Race. The young sailors then had the chance to ask her questions ranging from what tips she would give to helms of trapeze boats, to whether she preferred hard or soft butter. The highlight was when she showed the group the Olympic Silver medal. Annalise finished up her visit by encouraging everyone to sail as much as possible and make sure always to have fun.
