Finding their rhythm in the lockdown

The Irish Sailing Teams have found their rhythm in the current environment.

The teams are still hard at work with daily video catch-ups, teaching sessions and support from the “backroom” team made up of doctors, sports psychologists and nutritionists.

All the coaches are keen to use this shutdown time effectively and squeeze in many classroom based sessions that might not have been available when athletes are competing or travelling overseas.

The team continues to train using stationary bikes, and strength and conditioning sessions on Zoom. And of course, many of you will have seen the athletes using homemade gym equipment – they are masters in upcycling.

Pictures attached are some of the Laser Academy training using the new Irish eSailing virtual reality game.
