Irish Sailing Pathfinder Women at the Helm namechecked by World Sailing Trust
Many of you will have responded to our call out on behalf of the World Sailing Trust. They were looking for input into their review of women in sailing and have now published their findings in a strategic review which makes for interesting if sobering reading.
As part of the report, they published a toolkit of ideas which give a list of ideas and initiatives to get clubs started in thinking about gender diversity. And idea number three mentions our Women at the Helm event. So it looks like Ireland is leading the way when it comes to mixed gender regattas. We’re delighted, but know that we have a long way to go until our sport is a level playing field for all.
