Countdown to Watersports Inclusion Games, Galway, 25th and 26th August.
Does your club / activity centre aspire to being fully inclusive? Or perhaps you have thought about volunteering to assists with disabled sailing and have not yet had the opportunity?
The Watersports Inclusion Games are fast approaching and as organizers put the finishing touches in place we would like to invite all members of Irish Sailing clubs/centres to attend and witness inclusive best practice in action and perhaps even lend a spare hand! The Games proper take place at the Commercial Boat Club on the River Corrib in tandem with the Sailability Disabled Sailing Championships which will simultananeously taking place out in Galway Bay (operated from the docks).
Activities on offer at Commercial Boat Club this year have grown to include SUPing in addition to our three main disciplines of Sailing, Rowing and Canoeing, with RIB experience also, again offered by Spinal Injuries Ireland. We have Galway Bay FM lined up to broadcast from Steamer’s Quay on Saturday morning and we expect to welcome 100 participants each day. There will be a celebration dinner on the Saturday night at Galway Bay Hotel to wind up day 1 and all are welcome to join us (tickets must be reserved).
Contact Johanne at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details about attending the event as participant or volunteer, or to promote your organization at the EXPO on either day.
