REGIONAL AND NATIONAL SAFETY LEAD COURSE

Irish Sailing delivered its first Regional and National Safety Lead course last weekend in Dún Laoghaire, welcoming 14 members from across the country.

Designed for current local and regional safety leads aspiring to a National Safety Lead qualification, the course was facilitated by National Safety Lead Marcas Worth. The day focused on developing the skills required to manage and oversee safety at a range of sailing events and venues, including those involving larger fleets and more complex racing conditions.

Attendees built on their existing safety management skills, with sessions covering advanced risk awareness, hazard management and safety considerations across varied conditions.

Irish Sailing will continue to offer local and regional/national safety lead courses throughout 2027, encouraging members to develop their safety knowledge in a structured learning environment.
