The first Irish Schools Sailing team racing event of the 2026/27 season takes place 10th October 2026 with the Munster Championships, bringing school teams together for the opening championship of the year. The Munster Championship will see young sailors go head-to-head in team racing, with communication, boat handling and tactics all playing a key role on the water. For school sailors, the event is an opportunity to compete against other teams from across the province while developing the skills and teamwork that make team racing so distinctive.
Irish Schools Sailing, accredited by Irish Sailing, promotes and facilitates sailing in schools across Ireland, helping to make the sport more accessible to young people through school sailing, training and competition. Munster gets the 2026/27 championship season underway, followed by the Leinster Championship on 17 October. Connacht and Ulster will hold their provincial championships before Christmas, with the National Schools Team Racing Championship scheduled for 6-7 March 2027.

The Ulster Championship will be hosted by Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club in Cultra, County Down. Venues for the Leinster, Connacht and National Championships are still to be confirmed, with Irish Schools Sailing currently looking for clubs interested in hosting. With Munster first on the calendar, the 2026/27 school team racing season is ready to get underway.
