NEW SBSS INSTRUCTOR PRE-ENTRY SCORING RUBRIC

To support the consistent and high standard of sailing skills expected of every Irish Sailing instructor, each candidate completes a personal skills assessment before attending an Instructor Course, known as the Instructor Pre-Entry Assessment. The new SBSS Pre-Entry Scoring Framework/ Rubric aims to make the expected standard clear for candidates and assessors, and to support consistency across assessments.

The Pre-Entry Assessment is the gateway to becoming an instructor and is an essential part of maintaining the quality and standards of Irish Sailing training programmes. Prospective instructors should be confident in their personal sailing skills and well prepared to meet the required standard.

The new scoring rubric will help make those expected standards clear, and we look forward to providing further guidance and resources in the coming weeks to ensure candidates are well prepared.
