Irish Sailing is commencing a review of the National Cruising Training Scheme, looking at how the scheme can continue to support the development of competent, confident skippers and crew across both sail and motor cruising, while remaining relevant to current boating practices and recognised good practice.
Through this consultation, Irish Sailing is inviting feedback from across the cruising community. Contributions are encouraged from sailors, clubs, training centres, instructors and other stakeholders, with a focus on the effectiveness of the current cruising training scheme, opportunities for improvement and any suggested refinements that would strengthen its content and outcomes.
This process reflects Irish Sailing’s commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration, ensuring its training schemes remain relevant, practical and responsive to the evolving needs of recreational cruising.
