Applications are now open for the Irish Sailing Topper and ILCA 4 Winter Squads for 2026–27.
Running from October to March, the Junior Squad Programme supports ambitious young sailors looking to develop their racing and progress towards international competition. The programme combines structured training with opportunities to compete against strong international fleets and gain experience racing abroad.
The squads also focus on developing young athletes off the water, building skills such as resilience, independence, teamwork and confidence.
The programme enjoyed a strong summer on the international stage, with 14 sailors representing the squads, including Leo West Hurst, who won bronze at the Topper World Championships, and Amy Whyte, who finished as the top girl.
For young sailors looking to take the next step in their racing, the Winter Squads offer the opportunity to train alongside motivated sailors and experienced coaches throughout the winter season.
