THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO HARNESS THE WIND

For decades, windsurfing has offered one of the most exciting and accessible ways to experience a wind-powered sport, by combining speed, freedom and being out on the water. More recently, winging and foiling have brought a new generation onto the water and opened up even more opportunities.

Around the world, board sports have a huge following and windsurfing has been part of the Olympic Games for more than 40 years. Today that continues through the high-speed, foiling iQFOiL discipline, while winging and wingfoiling have quickly established themselves as some of the newest ways to get out on the water.

With some equipment on the roof rack, a wetsuit and the right conditions, there are opportunities to get afloat all around the country. Windsurfing and winging can be recreational, competitive, fast, technical or simply a great way to spend an hour on the water after work. Ireland already has a passionate windsurfing and growing winging community, and we're seeing renewed interest through Clubs and Training Centres around the country.
