Wild Cards have won the Elmo Trophy at the Royal St George Yacht Club, with a team assembled from scratch on Friday evening going on to beat The Demons by the tightest possible margin in Sunday’s final. The newly formed crew closed out the event 3–2 in a decider that went the distance, holding off an The Demons team that pushed them all the way to the final race of the regatta.
Saturday’s conditions did little to make life easy, swinging from no wind to too much before finally settling by mid afternoon. Congratulations to the Principal Race Officer Toby Hudson Fowler and the RSGYC team for keeping the event moving through challenging conditions. This was the 11th year of the Elmo Trophy, which will return to its usual late August time slot in 2027.
