Nominated by the Irish Match Racing Association and Irish Sailing, the team brings together sailors from Kinsale Yacht Club, Howth Yacht Club, Baltimore Sailing Club and the Royal St George Yacht Club for the 2v2 team racing event, with two experienced skippers leading the Irish challenge.
Micheál Ó Súilleabháin of Kinsale Yacht Club and Tom Higgins of the Royal St George Yacht Club will skipper the Irish teams, supported by a strong crew featuring Jamie McMahon, Fiona Ferguson, Henry Higgins, Clíodhna Ní Shúilleabháin, Sally O’Flynn and Fionn Lyden. The Irish squad also includes three female sailors, highlighting the depth and diversity of team racing talent within Ireland.
The World Sailing Team Racing World Championship brings together leading team racing nations for close, tactical racing where communication, teamwork and decision-making are crucial. Irish Sailing wishes Micheál, Tom and the entire Team Ireland squad the very best of luck in Sweden. We look forward to following their progress throughout the championship.
