Irish Sailing’s Cruising and Representation Policy Group (IS CRPG) is inviting cruising sailors to share their views on the opportunities and challenges facing coastal cruising in Ireland.
Following productive meetings held in both the East and West of the country, the group is now seeking input from southern cruising skippers at a meeting hosted by Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven on Saturday 29 August at 10:30am.
The aim of the meeting is to identify the obstacles currently limiting the growth of coastal cruising and explore practical opportunities to support more sailors in enjoying Ireland’s coastline. A well-researched list of priorities has already begun to take shape from previous discussions, but further input from the wider cruising community is needed before the findings are finalised.
Local skippers Séamus Gilroy (Royal Cork Yacht Club) and Brian Jolly (Kinsale Yacht Club) will host the event, with members of the IS CRPG, Nigel Moss and Cormac Mac Donncha (both Galway Bay Sailing Club), also contributing to the discussion.
