Earlier this year, three new Training Notices were issued to instructors, Training Centres and members. Two of these take effect from 1 September. From this date, the Coastal Navigation for Small Boats (shorebased navigation course) becomes a pre-requisite for all new National Powerboat Training Scheme (NPTS) Instructor and SBSS Advanced Instructor candidates.
It is important that Training Centres and Instructors remain familiar with current Training Notices to maintain the high standards of training delivered across the Irish Sailing network. Please take a few moments to review the latest notices and share them with your Instructors and relevant club personnel.
Training Notices are the official method used by Irish Sailing to communicate updates relating to instructor qualifications, programme delivery, recognition requirements and administrative processes.They help ensure Training Centres, instructors and volunteers are working from the most up-to-date guidance.
