A reminder that all Race Officials must renew their status during November and December 2026. This renewal cycle will be different from the previous one four years ago, so officials should not assume the process will be the same. Full renewal requirements for each level and discipline will be published shortly.
In the meantime, there is one important step every official can take now: make sure your log book is up to date. The easiest way to do this is through your Irish Sailing Passport on Checklick. If you already have an account, please use your existing account rather than creating a new one. Keeping your records accurate and current will help make the renewal process smoother for everyone involved.
There is also a new requirement for the 2027 renewal cycle. Safeguarding Level 1 certification will form part of the renewal criteria. If you do not currently hold this certification, now is the time to complete it before the November rush. You can book here.
A further reminder for Regional and National Race Officials: attendance at a Race Officials Conference is required at least once every four years. Officials who attended the conference at Galway Bay Sailing Club in October 2024 have already met this requirement, although we would be delighted to welcome you back. Those who did not attend will need to attend this year’s Race Officials Conference at Kinsale Yacht Club on 14 November, which you can book here.
