RS IRISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SET FOR KILLALOE SAILING CLUB

Killaloe Sailing Club is preparing to welcome sailors from across the country for the 2026 RS Irish National Championships, taking place from 21–23 August on the western shores of Lough Derg.

No stranger to hosting successful RS class events, the club will once again welcome competitors for what promises to be an exciting weekend of racing across three RS classes. More than 60 boats and over 120 sailors are expected to compete, making it one of the highlights of the late summer sailing calendar. Racing will be managed by International Race Officer David Lovegrove, supported by an experienced team of volunteers from Killaloe Sailing Club, ensuring a professionally run championship both on and off the water.

Away from the racing, competitors and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of Killaloe and neighbouring Ballina, with their excellent restaurants, cafés and bars. A championship barbecue at the club on Saturday evening will provide the perfect opportunity for sailors to relax and socialise after a day on the water. Irish Sailing wishes Killaloe Sailing Club every success with the event and looks forward to another fantastic RS National Championships on Lough Derg.
