The next Irish Sailing Senior Instructor Course will be held on the week of 24th August at Lough Derg Yacht Club, Co.Tipperary. Senior Instructor Courses are designed for experienced instructors across all Irish Sailing training schemes who want to further improve their instructional practice and play a greater role in developing training within their club or centre. The course explores how to design effective course programmes, develop quality learning experiences, strengthen safety systems and continually improve the standard of training being delivered. At its core, it is about giving experienced instructors the knowledge, skills and confidence to become better instructors.
The Senior Instructor qualification is a requirement across every Irish Sailing training scheme, making qualified Senior Instructors highly valued and sought after by Training Centres. It is the only instructor qualification that permits instructors to independently deliver an Irish Sailing syllabus without direct supervision. Successful completion of the course will revalidate all current instructor qualifications held within your existing scheme. Instructors who hold qualifications across multiple Irish Sailing schemes, and meet the relevant pre-requisites, can attain the Senior Instructor qualification within each of those schemes. Whether you intend to practice as a Senior Instructor, lead an instructor team, or simply become a better instructor, this course offers an excellent opportunity to invest in your own development.
It is available across:
-
Sailing (Dinghy, Keelboat, Catamaran)
-
Powerboat (NPTS, IWMTS, PWC)
-
Board (WindSurf & WingSurf)
