The fifth and final Sailing Grand Slam event of the 2026 season will take place in San Pedro, Los Angeles, from 17- 24 July, with Ireland set to be represented by three sailors.
Eve McMahon will compete in the ILCA 6 fleet, while Finn Lynch and Ewan McMahon will represent Ireland in the ILCA 7 class at the prestigious international regatta.
San Pedro is the sailing venue for the 2028 Olympic Games, where the dinghy, skiff and multihull events will be hosted. The venue has a strong sailing history, having previously hosted major national and international regattas, and is known for its consistent westerly breeze conditions.
The event will bring together many of the world’s leading sailors as they compete across six Olympic classes. The competing classes are ILCA 6, ILCA 7, 470 Mixed, Nacra 17, 49er and 49er FX.
