Irish Sailing is delighted to congratulate Oisin Cullen of the National Yacht Club and Emmet Dalton of Howth Yacht Club on becoming our newest National Umpires.
Oisin and Emmet are the first officials to qualify through the newly developed Irish Sailing National Umpire training programme, marking an important milestone in the development of race officials in Ireland. Both have shown great commitment to sailing, dedicating time both on the water and through structured training to achieve this qualification. Their success demonstrates the value of a clear pathway for officials and provides an excellent example for others who wish to progress in race management.
Irish Sailing would also like to recognise the work of Chris Lindsay, Cxema Pico and Bill O’Hara, whose expertise and commitment helped design and develop the National Umpire training programme. Their work has created a modern and structured approach to supporting officials as they develop their skills and experience. Irish Sailing will continue to support the development of race officials through future training opportunities, with further programmes for race officials resuming later this year. Congratulations to Oisin and Emmet on this significant achievement. We look forward to seeing the continued growth of race officiating in Irish sailing.
