The Watersports Inclusion Games 2026, organised by Irish Sailing, will return to Galway Bay on 11–12 July for another weekend dedicated to accessibility, participation and enjoyment on the water. With just two weeks to go until the event, anticipation is building as preparations enter their final stages across the host venues and partner organisations.
Now firmly established as a highlight of the summer watersports calendar, the Games bring together people of all abilities and backgrounds for a shared on-water experience. The event is free to attend and is designed to remove barriers to participation, offering a welcoming environment where everyone can try a wide range of activities regardless of previous experience.
Irish Sailing is delivering the event in conjunction with a strong group of national partners, including Canoeing Ireland, Diving Ireland, the Irish Wakeboarding and Waterski Federation, and Dragon Boat Ireland. The Games are also supported by Spinal Injuries Ireland, Sailing into Wellness, and a wide network of local sailing clubs and volunteers who help ensure the smooth and safe delivery of activities across the weekend.
Participants and their families will be able to experience sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, powerboating, dragon boating, snorkelling and windsurfing, all supported by qualified instructors and volunteers on the water and ashore. The focus remains firmly on enjoyment, inclusion and building confidence in a supportive setting.
This year’s event is expected to welcome several hundred participants, alongside a large volunteer team who play a central role in making the Games possible. Volunteer support remains a vital part of the delivery, helping to guide activities, support safety, and ensure every participant has a positive experience.
