Tralee Bay Sailing Club is set to host this year's WIORA event from 1st to 4th July, which will see approximately 40 boats coming together to compete in Fenit, Co. Kerry. Tralee Bay Sailing Club is the Organising Authority for this event, which will welcome crews from around the west coast of Ireland for four days of competitive racing and celebration.
The event carries added significance as WIORA celebrates its 50th anniversary, while Tralee Bay Sailing Club marks the 70th anniversary of its foundation in 1956. To commemorate these important milestones, a special 50th Anniversary Buffet will take place on Saturday evening ahead of the final prize-giving ceremony. Sailors, supporters and visitors are encouraged to attend what promises to be a memorable celebration of both organisations and their contribution to sailing on Ireland's west coast.
With a strong fleet expected, competitive racing on Tralee Bay and a packed social programme ashore, the event is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the 2026 cruiser-racing calendar.
