Irish Sailing is delighted to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Disability Capital Support Grant, funded through Sport Ireland’s Dormant Accounts Funding (DAF) programme.
As part of Irish Sailing’s continued commitment to increasing accessibility and inclusive participation across the sport, three grants of €12,000 will be awarded to affiliated clubs to support the purchase, installation and maintenance of hoists.
Accessible hoist facilities play an important role in removing physical barriers and helping ensure that sailors of all abilities can participate fully in club activities, training and events.
Clubs applying for the grant should note the following requirements:

Appropriate training for hoist use will be required

Clubs must ensure adequate insurance cover is in place

Follow-up inspections, where required by insurers, will remain the responsibility of the club
Irish Sailing strongly encourages applications from clubs that can demonstrate a clear commitment to inclusive practice and outline how they plan to support and sustain the investment into the future.
