RECOGNITION AT IRISH SPORT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Irish Sailing was honoured to attend the Irish Sport Industry Awards, hosted by the Federation of Irish Sport in the elegant surroundings of the The College Green Hotel. The event brought together organisations from across Irish sport to celebrate innovation, leadership and the positive impact sport continues to have within communities nationwide.

Irish Sailing was proud to be shortlisted in the category of Best Initiative to Promote Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Sport and Physical Activity for the Watersports Inclusion Games. While the award went elsewhere on the evening, it was a privilege to stand alongside so many inspiring initiatives working to ensure that sport in Ireland is accessible and welcoming to all.

The keynote address was delivered by Charlie McConalogue, Minister of State for Sport and Postal Policy, who spoke about the important role sport plays in communities across the country. He acknowledged the work of national governing bodies, volunteers and local sports partnerships in creating participation opportunities and supporting inclusion across all levels of sport.

Irish Sailing extends sincere thanks to the Government and Sport Ireland for their continued support and investment in programmes such as the Watersports Inclusion Games. This support plays a vital role in creating meaningful opportunities for people of all abilities to experience sailing and watersports in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Irish Sailing is now looking ahead to the 2026 Watersports Inclusion Games, which will take place in Galway on 11–12 July. Registration is due to open in early June, with organisers looking forward to welcoming participants, families, volunteers and partner organisations for another celebration of inclusive watersports in Ireland.
