Sail Training Ireland has announced that President Catherine Connolly has kindly agreed to become Patron of the charity, marking an important milestone for the organisation and its work supporting young people through sail training experiences.
Sail Training Ireland provides life-changing opportunities for young people across Ireland to experience adventure at sea, teamwork, personal development and leadership through structured sail training voyages aboard traditional vessels.
A key part of that experience is the opportunity for trainees to work towards Gaisce- The President’s Award while participating in voyages. As an official Gaisce Challenge Partner, Sail Training Ireland supports young people in achieving recognised personal development milestones through participation afloat.
The appointment of President Catherine Connolly as Patron is a significant recognition of the positive impact sail training continues to have on young people and communities throughout Ireland.
