The Fastnet Schools Team Racing event is taking place from 17-19 April at the Fastnet Marine Outdoor Education Centre, bringing together an impressive fleet of young sailors for one of the standout events in the schools sailing calendar.
A total of 24 school teams from across Ireland and the UK have entered, representing 144 sailors and highlighting the continued growth and popularity of schools team racing.
Conditions on the opening morning proved challenging, with very gusty winds forcing the race team to display the AP pennant ashore while awaiting improvement. Organisers remain hopeful that racing will get underway as conditions ease later in the day.
With strong competition and a fantastic turnout, the stage is set for an exciting few days of racing in Schull. Best of luck to all competitors and organisers for what promises to be a memorable event.
