Located on Ireland’s south coast, Glandore Harbour Yacht Club provides an ideal setting for sailing, with sheltered waters for racing and easy access to open sea conditions. The club supports a vibrant racing scene throughout the summer months, from dinghies to keelboats.
An Irish Sailing Local Race Officer course was recently held at the club, offering a valuable refresher for volunteers involved in running club racing in a safe and effective manner. The course was delivered by National Race Officer Michael Conway, who encouraged strong engagement and two-way discussion throughout the day. This approach allowed participants to share experiences and learn from one another, enhancing the overall learning experience.
The course plays an important role in supporting clubs to deliver high-quality racing, ensuring volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and confidence required for race management.
Thanks are extended to Harriet Emerson and Michelle Hayes for their support in organising the course. Irish Sailing looks forward to continuing to deliver further training opportunities at the club in the future.
