FLEET SPOTLIGHT: RS FEVA

The RS Feva fleet has grown rapidly over the past four years in Ireland. With its stable, durable design and asymmetric spinnaker, it introduces sailors to teamwork, communication, and performance racing, all within a competitive One Design framework.

The RS Feva was designed by Paul Handley in 2002 and launched by RS Sailing, quickly earning its spot as one of the cornerstones of youth sailing double-handed sailing.

Across the country, crews have spent the winter months training together in this fleet. Irish teams were competing this year (and reaching the podium!) at both the World and European Championships in France and Italy. Racing against international fleets, Irish teams brought home titles such as the Female European Champions. Not long now until the RS Feva fleet is in action at the Youth Nationals in Ballyholme this April.

The age for RS Feva entries has increased this year to support class numbers in its re-introduction to the Youth Nationals. Sailors must be under 17 years old on 31 December 2026.
