Calves Week Regatta Continues To Deliver
With close to 75 cruisers competing in this year’s regatta, Calves Week continues to serve up top class cruiser racing across four days in West Cork.
The organising authority, Schull Harbour Sailing Club (SHSC), has a strong race management team which oversees the competition across seven different racing divisions who compete under ECHO & IRC ratings to deliver results each day and present prizes to the daily and overall Winners.
One of the highlights over the four days is the annual fastnet race for all classes which this year was contested over the second day of the regatta. Roaring Water Bay was alive with colour as the competitors had an off wind leg after rounding ‘the rock’ , before attending a crew party night in the Schull Harbour Hotel, the main sponsor for Calves week.
Credit to SHSC for running a hugely successful and well organised event which continues to attract increasing numbers of competitors year on year.
