Cork Harbour Clubs Combine Cruiser Racing For June
The Cork Harbour Combined League concluded last Friday evening within the confines of the inner harbour where the competitors experienced a light westerly breeze and an ideal sea state.
With an average of 25 boats racing week on week, competitors from Cove Sailing Club and the Royal Cork Yacht Club combined to run both spinnaker and non-spinnaker classes side by side ensuring a very healthy turn out, both on the water and for après sailing each Friday evening.
Cove Sailing Club hosted the overall prizegiving where the skippers and crew were acknowledged for making this league a great success.
It has been fantastic to see the harbour clubs coming together to the benefit of sailors from both clubs and thanks must go to the event sponsor, Johanna Murphy and Sons Estate Agents and the Irish Cruiser Racing Association (ICRA) for supporting to ensure the league was a large success.
