DARKNESS INTO LIGHT 24'

SAIL INTO LIGHT SUCCESS!

In its third year, Irish Sailing’s Sail into Light hit the waters across Ireland at dawn for an inspiring and beautiful morning on Saturday 11th May…

12 clubs across the country took part in Sail into Light in collaboration with Pieta House's Darkness into Light Campaign.

Over 175 boats took to the water, varying from dinghies, keelboats, powerboats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards to East Coast Skiffs!

On the final count, the morning raised a total of €15,775.50

We would like to thank everyone who woke up with us and helped to make this morning possible, and of course to everyone who donated to this worthwhile cause. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

It's that time of again were we wake up for the most important sunrise of the year ...

Irish Sailing are working with Pieta House to support the annual Darkness into Light campaign. This year, the event will take place at dawn on Saturday 11th May 2024

Irish Sailing are seeking expressions of interest from any club/class/group thinking about taking part. We aim to bring clubs together with a workshop, discuss how Irish Sailing can support through communication channels, discuss safety considerations, and promote the mental health benefits of our sports.

Each year Darkness into Light provides an opportunity for people to connect with their local community and to bring hope to people who have been impacted by suicide. This will be Irish Sailing's third year taking part in this campaign that continue's to raise awareness and hope in the global fight against suicide and self-harm
