JANE CARTER, EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION OFFICER
Irish Sailing is delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Carter to the role of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
Jane grew up sailing in Lough Ree Yacht Club and worked as an Advanced Instructor in Ireland, France and Malta. After getting a taste for adventure and travel, she spent many years working on the ground in the international charity sector.
With a Masters in Equality Studies from UCD, Jane has successfully delivered a range of complex programmes achieving substantial behavioural and organisational change. Jane has significant experience supporting volunteers and communities who experience discrimination and is passionate about empowering people, removing barriers and driving sustainable change.
Jane continued her adventure by returning to Ireland in 2020 and now lives by the coast in County Clare.
The role of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer will focus on increasing accessibility and diversity across Irish Sailing. As part of this, Jane will also be responsible for Safeguarding. Jane is looking forward to connecting with and supporting all existing and potential members, clubs and training centres.
