A Suite of Spring Safeguarding Courses

What better way to start the Spring than by getting those Safeguarding Courses out of the way in preparation for a summer of sailing.

For everyone and anyone supervising children on a regular basis as a volunteer, coach or paid instructor under Children’s First Law you must be Garda Vetted and attend a Safeguarding 1 Course, which is 3 hours long and valid for 5 years. For those of you who are taking on the role of Junior Organiser or Childrens Officer you must attend an additional course called SG2 – Club Children’s Officer Course which looks at facilitating the Voice of the Child and creating a Child Centred approach to sailing activities. Finally, those of you who are Centre Principals, Training Managers or responsible for reporting abuse within your organisation to Statute Authorities you should attend our SG 2 -Designated Liaison Person course with looks at case management, dealing with parents and how to avail of support services.

For anyone who is coming up on needing to revalidate their SG1, we highly recommend that you attend either an SG2 or SG3 course to learn something new that will be of benefit to you and your organisation and at the same time this shall revalidate your SG1 for 5 more years as well – same time – same cost – just new learning and certificates.

The courses are facilitated by qualified tutors that have worked in the sailing / marine industry for many years so cases and examples are all sport specific to your needs.
