Irish Sailing are delighted to announce that the second Irish Sailing Pathfinder Women at the Helm event will be held again at the National Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire on 29 and 30 August 2020.
Book your calendars for our only national-level regatta for all-women racing, with the emphasis on encouraging women into positions of leadership by only allowing women helms.
Over 200 sailors took part last year, with ¼ of all feedback respondents taking the helm for the first time and 69% of them saying their leadership skills had benefitted as a result of the event. Our inaugural event last year was awarded the prestigious Platinum Clean Regattas Award from Sailors for the Sea, the highest award possible and the world’s only sustainability certification for water-based events.
Once again we’ll have two race courses with two days of racing outside Dun Laoghaire Harbour with lots of different types of boat - from small one-woman dinghies to larger keelboats with crews or teams of seven, and everything in between.
Registration will be open soon.
Any changes to syllabus, law or influences that effect training centres, clubs and classes
will be posted as OFFICIAL Notices or TRAINING NOTICES and listed here.
