The Irish Sailing Membership Management System (MMS) project is progressing well and remains on target, thanks to the strong engagement and participation of our pilot clubs (Howth Yacht Club, Arklow Sailing Club and Galway Bay Sailing Club) and training centres.
The new MMS system will provide a number of important benefits for affiliated organisations, including:
· Easier and faster administration processes
· Free platform for member management
· GDPR compliance and data security
· A future-proofed system to address anticipated legal and governance requirements
Working closely with the pilot organisations, the project team has developed the initial requirements documentation for the new system. The requirements document will now be validated with the pilot clubs and training centres and will be issued to the shortlisted vendors in early June as part of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
This represents the first major milestone for the project and an important step towards the delivery of the new MMS platform.
The involvement of the pilot clubs and training centres is helping to ensure that the needs and priorities of affiliated organisations are reflected in the final requirements document and in the system that will be delivered.
Phase 1 of the MMS project will deliver a centralised database for member management. It will provide affiliated clubs with a modern, secure and easy-to-use platform that simplifies administration and supports future compliance requirements.
Irish Sailing will be in direct contact with all affiliated clubs as the project moves into the data preparation and migration phase. Club representatives are also very welcome to visit the Irish Sailing offices to discuss the project in person, ask questions and learn more about the next stages of implementation.
