NEW PARTNERSHIP: COVY WATERSPORTS

Irish Sailing Performance Announces Partnership with Covy Watersports

The Irish Sailing Performance Team is delighted to announce a new partnership with Covy Watersports, who will become the Official Performance Wear Partner.

This partnership will provide valuable support to athletes across both senior and development squads, including performance kit and opportunities to collaborate on the design and development of technical apparel.

Covy Watersports is the only Irish watersports brand designing and developing its wetsuits in Ireland, offering sailors a truly home-grown performance option.

Commenting on the partnership, James O’Callaghan, Irish Sailing Performance Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Covy Watersports as a partner of Irish Sailing Performance. It is particularly positive to collaborate with an Irish brand, and we are proud to support homegrown innovation within our sport. Our sailors have thoroughly tested the kit and have been very impressed with its quality, fit and performance. We look forward to working closely with Covy Watersports and to a successful season ahead.”

Irish Sailing Performance continues to deliver consistent international success across Olympic classes, with multiple podium finishes at World Championships and Grand Slam events. Most recently, Eve McMahon secured gold in the ILCA 6 class at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma.

Covy Watersports founder Cillian Griffith added: “As a locally founded brand, we are proud to support Irish athletes competing on the international stage. Our ambition is to develop high-performance sailing apparel that athletes are proud to wear, while working closely with them to refine our products and support them in maximising their potential.”

Covy Watersports was founded by Cillian Griffith, originally from Claremorris, with the concept shaped by a lifelong connection to the sea in Westport, where his family is based.

Irish Sailing Performance offers a range of partnership opportunities for organisations looking to support athletes in achieving success at the highest level and progressing towards the Olympic Games. For more information, please contact: communications@sailing.ie

Covy Watersports will be present at the Irish Sailing Foundation Youth Nationals at Ballyholme Yacht Club on 11–12 April, where attendees can view their range in person.
