TOY SHOW APPEAL VISITS SLIGO YACHT CLUB

The national Toy Show Appeal is placing a special focus this year on Safe Haven Ireland, a non-profit organisation that offers children and young people, including those from migrant and refugee backgrounds, the chance to take part in transformative youth development programmes.

Sligo Yacht Club recently welcomed Safe Haven Ireland and an RTÉ crew to film material for an upcoming broadcast. The feature will air this Sunday at 7.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player as part of Unwrapped: The Toy Show Appeal. The programme will bring viewers behind the scenes to meet the children whose lives have been changed by the Appeal and to hear directly from the young people involved with Safe Haven Ireland.

Since its launch in 2020, the Toy Show Appeal has raised more than €26 million to support children across the country. The upcoming hour-long special highlights the real-world impact of that generosity.

Founded in 2015, Safe Haven Ireland provides sailing opportunities for young people aged 12 to 25. In less than a decade, the organisation has introduced countless children to the sport while fostering confidence, community, and new possibilities on the water.
