Re-Appointed for the issue of ICC

We are delighted to inform you that Irish Sailing has been re-appointed as an Approved Body for the issue of the International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft (ICC) following a comprehensive audit carried out by the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport on all our operating procedures, files, documentation, GDPR policies, in-house staff training, our auditing procedures and records of Centre Inspections carried out and of the integrity of our systems.

The ICC is to provide boat owners and people wishing to charter boats abroad with an internationally recognised document certifying their competence to skipper a boat for recreational use.

The Department complimented us on our adherence to their policies and regulations.

As there has been a tightening up of Departmental procedures which has resulted in other approved ICC issuing authorities losing their licences, we are especially delighted to have received this accolade.

They have requested one change of us and that is to seek proof of Irish residential address from non-Irish nationals applying for their ICCs as and from 1st January 2020.
