Instructor Jobs For 2024

Calling Instructors!

Although it’s only the end of February the summer season is rolling around quickly. Now is the time to be nailing down your plans for work this year particularly if you want to be assured of getting a job in your preferred Club or Training centre and for the time that you are looking for.

Clubs and Training Centres are finalising their programmes, looking at the courses they can offer and how many places they can make available, having a commitment from instructors, particularly Advanced and Senior Instructors is a key piece of this puzzle.

If you have not yet finalised your summer plans you may be interested in some work even if it’s not for the full course duration. Connect with your local Club or to check out options around the country have a look at our Instructor Facebook page or the Instructor Jobs page on our website.

Remember to check if your qualifications are in date by going to the Valid Instructor page on our website, if you are out of date you’ll need to complete a 1 day CPD revalidation or an upgrade endorsement course such as Keelboat Instructor, Advanced Instructor or Senior Instructor. Demand for some of these courses can be high so booking early is advised, more are being added all the time and are listed on our Upcoming Courses page as soon as we are notified of a new course.

For Clubs and Training Centres!

If you are still looking for instructors:

  • Post regular updates to the Instructor Facebook page or Regional Facebook page.
  • Email training@sailing.ie to list on the Instructor Jobs page of the website (please remember to notify us when the position is filled).
  • Use your current network of instructors, past and present, to check with their friends and colleagues in other locations.
  • Talk to the Clubs and Training Centres around you to see if schedules can be co-ordinated to share instructors or arrange instructor exchanges.
  • If required schedule a 1 day CPD revalidation for out of date instructors by contacting your local Instructor Trainer.

And remember, make sure to promote all the positive elements of your work environment and the personal development opportunities for potential instructors for when they consider this alongside other potential summer work.
