The sailing takes place in Enoshima, about 50 kilometres south of Tokyo.
The Lasers Radial start racing first on Sunday 25th July at 4.00am Irish time (12.00 Japan). They race 10 races in total with a maximum of 3 races per day. Each race takes about 50 mins
At the end of the 10th race, the 10 highest ranked boats advance to the medal race which is due to take place on Sunday 1 August
The Laser Radial fleet has 44 boats competing, and the boats are supplied by the IOC
The 49ers start on Tuesday 27 July at 4.00am Irish time (12.00 Japan). They have a total of 12 races, with a maximum of 4 races per day. Each race takes about 30 minutes
At the end of the 12th race, the 10 highest ranked boats advance to the medal race which is due to take place on Monday 2 August
