Jack Roy hosts Eurosaf Race Officials Conference
Irish Sailing President Jack Roy hosted the recent Eurosaf Race Officials Exchange meeting in January with 42 people attending from 26 countries. This two-day event covered a range of topics, and the delegates were very impressed with the history of sailing in Ireland, particularly with reference to Lough Ree Yacht Club’s 250th anniversary, and the Royal Cork Yacht Club celebrating their 300th anniversary this year.
Jack Roy commented “The Eurosaf Conference is a particularly important for us as it’s a great programme for getting overseas National Level officials to help with our large events such as the Irish Sailing Youth Nationals, the Fireball Worlds, the GP 14 Worlds, Wave Regatta, Cork Week and the Irish Sailing Senior All Irelands. On the flip side, there will be four Irish race officials traveling to events in the UK and Europe”.
