TIDE INFORMATION NOW FEATURED ON IRISH SAILING WEBSITE

The tide information widget from MyTide.ie is now available on the Irish Sailing website, providing an easy and accessible tool for planning time on the water across the country. You can access it here.

MyTide.ie offers clear, location-based tide times and height predictions for coastal areas around Ireland. It is designed to support a wide range of water users, including cruising sailors, dinghy sailors, windsurfers, paddleboarders, anglers and powerboaters.

For cruising sailors in particular, the tool is a practical aid when planning passages, estimating departure and arrival times, and understanding tidal streams around headlands, estuaries and harbour entrances. Having quick access to reliable tidal information helps support safer and more efficient passage planning along the Irish coastline.

The widget draws on authoritative data from the Marine Institute, including the Irish National Tide Gauge Network and established tidal prediction services. These are based on long-term observations and recognised scientific modelling methods. For real-time sea level readings, the Marine Institute provides live tide gauge observations through its data services: More information here.

While tide predictions are not a substitute for local knowledge or real-time assessment, they provide a valuable reference point when combined with weather forecasts, seamanship and on-the-water decision making. Conditions such as wind, pressure and storm surge can still influence actual water levels.

By integrating MyTide.ie into the Irish Sailing website, users now have quick access to tide information when planning activities anywhere in the country, whether heading out for a coastal cruise, a training session, a race, or a recreational day on the water.

It is a simple but useful addition that supports better planning and more informed decision-making for all Irish water users.
